the evening before monday.

who, me?

I just read the perfect “About Me.” Seriously, this gal was probably writing about me and just didn’t know it. But since I’ve absolutely forbidden myself to copy and paste her work - we writers know that this is a HUGE no-no - I’ll just spill my beans very informally. I love to write. I love my hubby, who happens to be my very best friend {I refer to him as “hubby,” “hubs,” or even Drew. I just can’t bear to call him husband as it sounds so very formal and adult-ish to me}. I am overly found of sidetracking, as you may have already noticed. I love living in “the behemoth”, an ancient yellow Victorian graced with sloping floors {seriously, the chair on wheels rolls across our l.r. - you don’t even have to give it a push!}. I love making gourmet meals in our shoe box sized kitchen. I love anything local, anything greenie, anything healthy {but I’m NOT a vegetarian!}. I love photography. I’m most definitely having a garden when hubs and I plant roots. I am passionate about NOT working from 9 to 5. This means that I walk, sometimes run, from one part-time job to the next. Depending on the day, you might find me teaching music lessons; editing a manuscript; ironing at a B&B; playing nanny to three sweet kiddos; driving to my parents’ house {where my grandma now also resides} to aid with sanity control; writing a freelance piece; or 2^nd shooting a wedding on a given Saturday. Sometimes all this madness stresses me out, but I can’t imagine doing anything else.

This blog used to be called “Why China?” I created it to keep myself on the straight and narrow when hubs and I gave up China for a year in ’10 {who am I kidding? I was just dying to start a blog!}, but now this is a space for writing…about anything. One day I’m posting pictures galore {my sidekick is a Canon Rebel xTi}. The next day it may be a diatribe about eating local. Then two weeks from today a fashion-inspired post may pop up. You just never can tell. And that’s what makes it fun.
